Any people who have been working in a garden know that removing weed is a hard job. You can spend hours and hours of work, and still cannot completely remove them. When the weed is young, the roots are very tiny. A pull will leave the root behind. It can grow back within days. Even when you have removed all of them; new weed seeds came from no where will germinate in very short while. I usually leave weed grow to a reasonable size, which is fit to pull with the root. I use the waste vegetation to compost new soil. In some occasions, when I unplug the weed, I pulled some of my crop. I felt distress with that. Some farmers will let the weed grow freely at spring time; then, he will plough the land and let the roots to be exposed to the sun. When all the weeds died, he will sow his seeds. Modern farmers use herbicides to destroy weed. Using this technology seems scientific. However, people have never thought of any thing you spay on the land will end up in the ocean. These chemicals contaminated most fishes in the world. Scientist found majority of the ocean had been polluted. Eskimos in the arctic oceans get high blood pressure because of eating fishes contaminated by mobile phone batteries. Deep sea fishes contains carcinogen.

The Webster dictionary define weed is any plant growing in cultivated ground to the injury of the crop or desired vegetation, or to the disfigurement of the place; an unsightly, useless, or injurious plant.

Weeds are plants people do not want. These plants usually have high growing power. They can surpass the crop you intend to grow. These wild plants have high surviving strength even in the worst environment. Although weed is not welcome by farmers, however, they are good feed to animals. Nomads use them to feed their herds. Some weeds can even be used as herbal medicine. Dandelion, for example, gardeners hate it, is a delicacy and herb. In Germany, many farmers grow dandelion.

The bible uses tares (weed) to represent sinners. Some people ask why God does not kill all sinners instantly. Matthew 13:29-30 said: “But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. ” God worries that killing sinners can also kill some righteous. God also wants to give us a last chance to become a delicacy as Dandelion does. This agrees with the way we usually treat weeds. Let them grow, and destroy them at harvest time. Then, when is the harvest time? This is the second coming of Jesus. When Jesus returns, this world will be destroyed as the farmer turn up the soil to expose all roots to the sun burn. Which category do you want to be? Weed or crop?
